HISTORY OF OUR PARISH
The first person to conceive the idea of a Catholic church in the town of Limuru was Mr. Edel Quinn. When he visited the Bata factory, he observed the large number of people and the inadequate environment for celebrating Mass/Worship.
As a result of this idea, the Loreto Sisters and the priests of Limuru Mission (St. Joseph) began to provide Mass services for the Christians of Limuru and those who worked at Bata every Tuesday evening after work and every first Friday of the month. Mass was held in the Bata factory hall. The Christians faced many challenges because the hall was also used by others for discos and entertainment. It was a challenging task for the Christians to clean up the broken glass bottles left from the previous night's entertainment.
