HISTORY OF OUR PARISH

St. Catherine of Alexandria, Nairobi South C is in the Central Deanery of the Archdiocese of Nairobi. The history of our Parish began many years ago, in 1997, when the then mother parish - Our Lady Queen of Peace in South B, mooted the idea of establishing a prayer centre in South C to enhance the church mission within the area. The plan was to begin with a youth hall to cater for the needs of the energetic youth of South C. As you can see, we are now re-living that experienced based on the recent initiatives to attract the young people in the Parish that includes sporting activities. To achieve this vision, the fundamental requirement was land and land was never cheap at any time in Nairobi.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: 3rd SUNDAY OF ADVENT YEAR C.

Today we’ll have second collection for the Jubilee of consecrated life celebration which will take place on 1st February 2025.
There will be infant baptism this month on December 25th during the Christmas mass. Parishioners with infants to collect the forms for baptism in the parish office.
Parents who have registered their infants for baptism will have their first meeting on Saturday 21st December at 9:00 am.
There will be visitation of the sick and elderly on Friday 20/12/2024.We are requested to register the names of those who wish to be visited in the Parish office by Wednesday 18th December.
Christians who were assisting in filling research questionnaire for Fr. Peter Ochieng are kindly requested to return the questionnaire in the parish office.
Parishioners are being requested to donate non-Perishable food stuff to assist the less privileged in the society during the Christmas festivities.
Christmas Thanksgiving envelopes: We are kindly requested to collect the Christmas thanksgiving envelopes from the back of the church. You can also send your thanksgiving offering through the Parish Paybill – 4077239 Account – Christmas offering..
St. Mary’s School is a Catholic day school owned and managed by the Archdiocese of Nairobi. They are inviting and conducting interviews in December 2024 for admission in January 2025 in the following classes: Kindergarten, Grades 1-9, Form 2 and 3, Cambridge year 1-6, IGCSE year 7-10. Weekday Masses: morning masses at 7:00am, while the evening masses are at 6:00pm
Saturday Masses at 7:30 am, evening pre festive mass at 5:30pm
Confessions are done on Friday 7:30 during adoration, Saturday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM before pre-festive mass and Sundays during the masses
The priests are available for confession any time within the week.
Adoration chapel is opened daily from 6:00am to 7:00pm
Secretariat office is opened daily with an exemption on Mondays
Visiting of the old and sick is done on call and on second Fridays and fourth Fridays of every month.
