NAIROBI, SOUTH C – ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA FRIARY
St. Anthony of Padua Friary in Nairobi is situated in the area of South C, right behind Five Star Estate, between Langata and Mombasa roads and two airports: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Wilson Airport.
The Conventual Franciscan Friars were invited to South C in 2003 by then Archbishop of Nairobi Raphael Ndingi Mwana a’ Nzeki, to take over the new parish of St. Catherine of Alexandria. The friars ran the parish from Lang’ata friary until 2006 when the friary in South C was completed and canonically erected. Apart from housing the friars working in the parish, the friary acts as the Custodial headquarters of the Conventual Franciscans Friars in Kenya (Custodial Office).
